Welcome, to my research space where there is a constant sharing and mismatch between my ideas and sparks of curiosity. This constant push and pull between the two sits at the intersection of all my varied interests across science, literature, social impact, sustainabilty and more. Over the years I have been in a constant pursuit of answers to questions that spark not only my interest but rather my imagination. Questions, that help me use my imagination to paint vivid coloured pictures of whole new worlds, these worlds are often as small as the microscopic elements of biology or sometimes as gigantic and tangible as the themes and ideas woven into literature. The same literature that sometimes is a mirror of the past, time long gone by, a mere reflection of lived experiences of people who walked this planet long before I did but lived lives completely opposite to mine. Literature, that sometimes leads to revolutionary social change and reforms that lead to initiation of community actions that produce tangible results even today.
Each project that I undertake and choose to illustrate here is a journey in itself some have been written for school and university assignments but still found a place here as the questions interested me enough that I poured over different resources for days and spent hours planning out each paper. Some papers have been written as a result of my personal curiosity on topics that I found relevant for my personal growth. All of these papers are a result of a process. A process where I tend to discover, analyse and reflect on the entire scaffolding of the answers to my questions. This process is not only reflective in an intellectual sense but is the blueprint of my learning process and outcomes itself.
When I was an active student of the natural sciences my work in both chemistry and biology was strictly experimental where I made use of various statistics and other data interpretation methods to draw conclusions. This was where my skills for methodic research and observation were initially nurtured. Slowly, I moved onto framing independent research questions one of which was what I researched in my extended essay of Biology. Following this, I felt confident in myself and felt well equipped with skills essential to carry out independent research in different subjects of interest. Some of that interest is reflective in my literature papers, where I delve into novels, plays and poetry to explore characters, narratives, themes and styles. I choose my questions on the basis of how relevant they are to today's time and the global issues faced by humanity all over the world. Beyond academica, I try my best to associate with different social projects documenting and analysing initiatives in community medical camps and volunteer programs or otherwise provided that I can try helping by applying research methods and corresponding skills to real world challenges.
This page is designed to show all my works thatI currently have access to and not only the most significant ones. I have featured summries, insights and full access to my original papers, alongside an account of how the papers came to exist. The creative journey behind each paper is well documented in the Research Process and Research Journal sub section of this page. My aim is to create a well documented, transparent record of my intellectual journey that is always a reminder of how far I have come and how much further I still have to go.
Regardless, of whether you are a fellow student, teacher, researcher, curious reader or just someone who enjoys intellectual dialogue I really hope you find something for yourself, something that inspires even a little maybe just a thought, a dialogue or interests you into further exploration. This is to remind myself daily that each project here, is not just an answer or the only answer to my chosen question it is a starting point for both, new questions and new answers. An emphasis on the fact that research is as much about the process as it is about results.
This is one of my works that to this day I feel the most proud of to this day as it marks my beginning in the sphere of independent enquiry and research an was my first sustained effort in the same. Based in the subject of biology this work investigates a focused research question through self designed experiments, data collection, statistics and critical analysis. This essay is not just a mere collection of results but rather the entire conceptual development process wherein everything was reached through a method of trial and error.
Working on this project I learned the conversion of theorectical principles and frameworks into empirical enquiry and concrete results. As this was a project where the research spanned across 6 months, it also helped foster discipline, patience and critical thinking. This helped me transition from guided mentor based learning to independent academic thinking. This paper stands as a foundational piece in my research journey as it is my introduction to my evolving mindset and research practices.
